Independent variable is the pill, dependent variable is outcome of taking pill. The way you should measure this is have an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group gets the pill before flying or whatever, and the control group doesn't. Record the outcome. However, you should try to use people for the experiment that you know get airsick.
