Biology help! Which is the independent variable and which is the dependent variable?

One side of a chamber was damp while the other side of the chamber was dry. I put 5 pill bugs in each chamber and recorded for 10 minutes every 30 seconds how many pill bugs were on each side of the chamber. I am creating a graph and need to know which part of the experiment is the independent variable and which is the dependent variable. Thank you!Biology help! Which is the independent variable and which is the dependent variable?
First you have to define your variables, period.

One variable is the dampness of the side.

The other variable is how many pill bugs on the sides.

The independent variable is the dampness of the wall, and the dependent is the number of pill bugs. why? Because what you're testing is usually the dependent variable. You are changing the dampness to see, or test, how pill bugs react.Biology help! Which is the independent variable and which is the dependent variable?
I would graph it as how many bugs were in each part of the chamber over time.

On the horizontal part of the graph, mark down time, then, on the side, mark how many bugs were in the wet side (or the dry side).Biology help! Which is the independent variable and which is the dependent variable?
Dependent- Number of pill bugs on each side

Independent- The condition of the side(wet or dry).
