What is the difference between independent variable, dependent variable and control variable?

what is the difference between independent variable, dependent variable and control variable?

im doing my IAA science and the experiment is about comparingthe reaction times before and after drinking a coke... well you don't have to know about that though ;) but pls tell me what the heck is independent variable, dependent variable and control variable? because i thought independent variable and control is the same???..What is the difference between independent variable, dependent variable and control variable?
The terms "dependent variable" and "independent variable" are used in similar but subtly different ways in mathematics and statistics as part of the standard terminology in those subjects. They are used to distinguish between two types of quantities being considered, separating them into those available at the start of a process and those being created by it, where the latter (dependent variables) are dependent on the former (independent variables).[

In control theory, control variables are the variables that are input to the control system. Reaction rate is the dependent variable and everything else that can change the reaction rate must be controlled (kept constant) so that you only measure the effects of concentration. Variables that need to be controlled in this case include temperature, catalyst, surface area of solids, and pressure. If not controlled, they complicate the experiment and hence, the experiment is less valid.

e.g. a control variable could be time or mass. E.g. each marble had ten minutes to dissolve in acid.
The control variable is what stays the same throughout the experiment. (There can be more than one) The independent variable is the variable that you change The dependent variable changes based on the independent variable,it's what you want to find out in your experiment. What is the difference between independent variable, dependent variable and control variable?
Independent variable: x axis on a graph.

This is the thing that u change. So in this case, if they drink or don't drink the coke

Dependent Variable: y axis on a graph.

This is the thing being measure. Here it would be the reaction time

Control variable: this things u keep the same.

Like the amount of coke u give the personWhat is the difference between independent variable, dependent variable and control variable?
dependants the thing you dont change, and i think controlled variable is the thing you measure and independant is the thing you change
In an experiment:

independant variable - what are you changing?

dependant variable - what are you measuring?

control variables- what stays the same?
