What would the independent variable, dependent variable, and constant be for my science fair project?

My science fair project question is whether weather affects the growth of crystals.

I have the chemical powder, two rocks, two containers, and a mixing stick.

I'm like mentally challenged on finding all of the variables and costants.

Please help!

Thank you SO SO much! What would the independent variable, dependent variable, and constant be for my science fair project?
The independent variable is the conditions the crystals are growing in. It is called this because it does not depend on anything for it's value. You should have only one independent variable (you should only change one thing). The dependent variable is how the crystals turn out or how fast they grow. this is because it depends on the conditions it grows in. The constants would be everything you don't change which would be, the ingredients, the container. This is because they stay constant, they don't change. What would the independent variable, dependent variable, and constant be for my science fair project?
Crystal grown is the dependent variable

The two rocks are the "subjects"

The chemical powder and weather are the independent variables (the rocks presumably get exposed to the powder or the weather..)
