Its a tradition or something like that to plot independent variable along x-axis, and dependent variable along y-axis? Whats the reason behind this? Or is it just a convention?
I know the question sounds lame, but still asking.Why independent variable is plotted along x-axis?
No reason. But it's got to be one axis or the other. There are some examples where it's been done the other way, but that's just confusing because everyone takes it for granted that the x-axis is the independent variable.
