Find the independent and dependent variable and confounding variables in this example?

Professor Ziti has confirmed the effectiveness of an attention enhancement pill manufactured in his lab. Dr. Ziti initially tested students using the Wechsler Attention Scale. Following this initial testing, the students were given the Ziti attention enhancement pill for three days. On the fourth day, Dr. Ziti tested the students again. Students performed better on the second testing, thus proving the effectiveness of the attention enhancement pill.

What is the independent variable(s)?

What is the dependent variable(s)?

What is the confounding variable?Find the independent and dependent variable and confounding variables in this example?
*The IV (manipulated) is the pill (students given pill vs students not given the pill)

*The DV (measured) is the score on the Wechsler Attention Scale

*A potential confounding variable could be practice effects resulting from taking the test multiple times
