Can Two Way Anova tell which independent variable is a better predictor?

For example

dependent variable = heart rate

independent variable = male or female

independent variable = natural runner or n

given a set of data, can two way anova tell which independent variable is a better predictor of the DV heart rate? Can Two Way Anova tell which independent variable is a better predictor?
You can compare the Type 3 sums of squares for the two IVs. If one is considerably larger than the other you would be fair saying it's a "better" predictor. Note that the ratio of the SS of some effect to SSTotal is called eta squared and is a measure of effect size similar to R^2.
