Independent Variable??

i did an experiment in class where we had to find densities of dif. materials and where they fall in place when you put them all in one cup. do you think the independent variable is the materials or their densities????? 10 easy pts???|||the independent variable is the one you change. In this case, it would be the materials. The densities and the place they fall are dependent.|||The material is the independent variable. Density depends on what material you're measuring.

Try it the other way. Choose a density reading; what material do you get? There could be more than one answer.|||the independent variable is what you change in the experiment, and the dependent is the results.

therefore, in this experiment the materials//objects are the independent variables.|||their densities.|||the density of each material
