Describe how the dependent variable changes as the independent variable changes in a linear relationship?

Describe how the dependent variable changes as the independent variable changes in a linear relationship? Give examples. But please break it down when you answer it, in words I can understand!! :) Thank you so much!|||This is a basic linear equation:

Y = a + bX

"Y" is the dependent variable

"X" is the independent variable

The term "a" is where the line intersects the X axis (at X = 0)

The term "b" is the slope (change in "Y" divided by change in "X). Think of this as a measure of how much the line inclines.

If "b" is a positive number, the value of "Y" will increase by a value of "b" for every increase of 1 in the value of "X".

If "b" is a negative number, the value of "Y" will decrease by a value of "b" for every increase of 1 in the value of "X".
