Can anyone suggest unique baby names for a girl?

I am having a little girl in December and i would love to give her a unique name. I am having trouble coming up with truly unique names that me and my boyfriend can agree on. please help me!|||Congratulations! My husband and I are expecting too and we were considering a unique baby name until we came upon an article which steered us the other way. Basically, it said that unique/rare names are OK as long as people can pronounce it and/or spell it with ease. For example, getting asked by every teacher, every year in school, "Last name is [Jones], how do you say your first name?," can be embarrassing and leave a lifetime of resentment in the child's heart. Also, you want a name that will sound/look good as the child gets older and takes on a profession.





Having said that, we're leaning towards names that are super-rare and haven't been used in a long time. There's a book out called The Baby Name Wizard which tells you when it was last popular (i.e. 1940 or whatever) and gives you graphs and name origin, etc (I didn't buy this but checked it out at Barnes and Noble). This way, the name is rare/unique but also won't cause your child problems as they get older.





Just a suggestion, I'm sure you'll pick the perfect name for your little girl.|||unique is fine but keep it real please!! no made-up,ghetto,trailer-park misspelled,phony,trendy or gender inappropriate names please!!! there are many real,decent,normal but unique names to choose from
